Find your birth star

Find out what star lines up with your birth year and see how to locate it in the night sky!

What is a Birth Star?

When you find your birth star, it means that the light you currently see shining from that star began its journey towards Earth right around the time you were born!

For example, let’s say you are 17 years old today. Your birth star, Altair, is located about 17 light-years away.

This means that roughly 17 years ago some photons were released from the surface of Altair and began crossing the vast vacuum of space. As these photons sped through space at the speed of light and arrived to Earth, the entirety of your life played out.

What’s more, when you look up at Altair, your eyes will be the first thing these photons will “bump” into, making the connection all the more meaningful.

Locating your birth star is a great way to connect with the cosmos and begin to learn the night sky!

Enter your age above and we will not only show you your birth star but also provide you with the constellation and time of year you can find it. We’ll also share something interesting about your birth star.
